The band started in 1994, when Count Imperium - at this time the vocalist and the bass player - got together with the guitarist Cerberus. After 2 years of searching, in 1996, they found a drummer: Lord Fausto. In June of 1996 was released the first musical register of the band "Eternus Malus". Six months later the band releases its first Demo-Tape "Regnus Ad Exus". Few weeks later, Cerberus decides to leave the band and Count Imperium assumes the Guitars.
1997 - 1998
Some months later, in 1997, Dom Junior enters to assume the bassist place. January 1998, Lady of Blood enters the band as the guitarist.
1999 - 2000
After some waiting, in September 1999, finally was released the debut CD "Bellicus Profanus" via Evil Horde Records. Six months later, march of 2000, by many reasons, among them, personal and musical, Lord Fausto was removed from the band. Count Imperium assumed as new drummer and Males Maleficarum joined as the vocalist.
2001 - 2002
February 2002 is released the newest work of Ocultan: "Lembranças do Mal, A Crucificação" once again through Evil Horde Records. This release showed a new Ocultan, faster and brutal and all the lyrics were sang in Portuguese. The same year, in December, the band signs with Mutilation Records and releases its 3rd Long Play "Lords of Evil..." which was released in two formats: CD and Vinyl. This work brought ever more devastation than the previous one. From this one, the band started to receive many excelent critics from the specialized media!
2003
July 2003 marks the release of the band's first live album: "Infernal Live" released via Imperial Records The feedback of the Live CD was better than the expectation and soon the band was receiving even better critics. After this exclusive release, the band already have many songs composed to release its forthcoming album which was released in December under the title of "The Coffin" via Mutilation Records.
2004
Some time after the release of "The Coffin" the band started to receive many good critics and the album was acclaimed as the best Ocultan's album so far. April, through professional problems, Males Maleficarum was invited to leave the band. Daimoth was invited to be the new singer and guitarist. Continuing with the production of great albums, the band enters in studio to record the 5th album of the career "Profanation".
2005
After the foundation of Count Imperium's own label, Pazuzu Records, is released the new album "Profanation" which had its first 1000 copies sold less than a month! The good selling and the good repercussion in the specialized media celebrates all the evolution of the band and their work. It also give them the opportunity to play some great gigs and play in some of the biggest Festivals in Brazil. November, Daimoth decides to leave the band and Legacy (ex-Morthor) joined as a singer only, since then the band returned to have only one guitarist.
2006
In the beginning of 2006, Ocultan starts the process of composition of the new album. After 13 new songs, the band entered in studio to start the recording of "Regnum Infernalis". This album demands much more attention to the details and took much more time in the process of composition than the others. This album also has some Death Metal influences and a much more technical instrumental.
2007
"Regnum Infernalis" was released in May via Pazuzu Records. Like the other releases, this one had the same good repercussion and is pointed by some people as the best release of the band. Dom Junior leaves the band in December and Magnus Hellcaller was invited to replace him as the Bass player, current member from Brazilian Black Metal band Blackthorny.
2008
The year of 2008 marks a historical moment for all the Brazilian Metal scene. The recording of the first Brazilian Black Metal band DVD!
2009
The year just started and the band already start to compose the new material to be released in the firsts months of 2010. In between the band is making tour to divulgate the release of the DVD "Ceremony of Hate". Ocultan started the year focused in new songs and the band made a deal with the label Freemind Records to release the upcoming album, in december, after finished the compositions and started the studio recordings, once again Ocultan faced changings in the line-up, in this time Legacy left the band for personal problems, with a new stuff about to be finished, Count Imperium decided to came back to the vocals, as it would take some time to find a new vocalist who was prepared to get the songs quickly.
2010
After working hard on new compositions, Ocultan released the most new album, "Atombe Unkuluntu" by Free Mind records.
In march, Atombe Unkuluntu is released, the album had a great acceptance from fans and media.
2012
The band started the year focused in new compositions which are going to be part of next album, due to be released until the end of the year.
2013
April 2013 is released the newest work of Ocultan: " Shadows From Beyond " once again through Multilation Productions.Like the other releases, this one had the same good repercussion and is pointed by some people as the best release of the band.
2014
After some tests, the drummer MALUS was effected as substitute for Count Imperium who was acting as drummer and vocalist. Now C.Imperium is dedicated exclusively to the vocals. In the past MALUS played in the following bands: Esgaroth, Agouro, Insanity Force, Justabeli. Currently MALUS plays in the brazilian Black Metal band Legio Inferi.
In September of that year bassist Magnus Hellcaller decided to leave the band.
2015
After a few months doing Bey kazoth tests was chosen to be the new bassist. Currently Kazoth Bey plays guitar in the band of Brazilian Black Metal Throne.
In November of that year is launched new album "Nexion Chaos". This album was released in Brazil by the label Pazuzu Records and Partners .
Currently the band is preparing to perform some concerts in Brazil.
2016
In October of this same year drummer Malus was removed from the band. His departure occurred amicably.
2017
After performing some tests the drummer "Mephisto Luciferius" was chosen as substitute of the Ex - Drummer "Malus", that had closed its activities in the band in October of 2016.
2018
At the beginning of 2018 the band signs with the label Heavy Metal Rock Records to release their 10 studio album.
In June of this same year his newest work "Quintessence" is released. Soon after its launch the band began to receive excellent critics by both the public and the media.
Soon after the release of the new album Drummer "Mephisto Luciferius" leaves the band, his departure occurred due to the same not being able to reconcile his work with the activities of the band.
At the moment the band is conducting tests with some drummers.
Biografia
Foi em 1994 que iniciou-se toda trajetória do Ocultan, quando Count Imperium, que nesta época tocava baixo e fazia os vocais se reuniu com o guitarrista Cerberus. Após dois anos, no ano de 1996, junta-se a banda o baterista Lord Fausto. na REH "Eternus Malus", lançada em em 25 de junho de 1996 foi lançado seu primeiro registro musical, a REH "Eternus Malus", Seis meses depois, em 01 de dezembro, a banda lança sua 1ª dt oficial "Regnus Ad Exus".
Poucas semanas após o lançamento da Dt Oficial, Cerberus decidiu deixar o Ocultan por motivos pessoais, foi quando Count Imperium abandonou o baixo para assumir a guitarra.
1997 - 1998
Meses mais tarde, em 1997, Dom Junior entra para assumir o cargo vago de baixista.
Em janeiro de 1998 a guitarrista Lady of blood passou a fazer parte do cast da banda.
1999 - 2000
Após longos meses de espera, em Setembro de 1999, finalmente foi lançado o Debut Cd, via Evil Horde Records, sob o título de "Bellicus Profanus".
Passado seis meses, em março de 2000, por diversos motivos, entre eles, pessoais e musicais, Lord Fausto é retirado da banda, após sua saída Count Imperium decidiu deixar o a guitarra e vocal de lado e assumiu o cargo de baterista, nesse meu termo Males Maleficarum assumiu os vocais.
2001 - 2002
Em fevereiro de 2002, é lançado seu mais novo trabalho "Lembranças do Mal, A Crucificação", mais uma vez pela Evil Horde Records. Este lançamento mostrou um novo Ocultan, mais rápido e brutal, e diferente do 1º trabalho, a banda passou a cantar suas músicas em Português.
Em março de 2002 o Ocultan assina com o selo Mutilation Records em dezembro deste mesmo ano é lançado seu terceiro cd, "Lords of Evil…" que teve uma tiragem inicial de 2000 cópias em cd e uma versão limitada em 500 cópias em vinil que trouxe um bônus da Dt Oficial. Neste CD o Ocultan trouxe um som ainda mais devastador que em seu trabalho anterior.
Desde então, o Ocultan começou receber excelentes criticas da mídia e zines especializados !!!
2003
Em julho de 2003 é lançado seu primeiro registro ao vivo intitulado "Infernal Live", este cd foi lançado pelo selo imperial Records.
A repercussão deste álbum foi maior que a esperada, mais uma vez a banda estava recebendo excelentes criticas !!
Logo após este lançamento exclusivo pela Imperial Records, a banda já possuía boa parte de suas novas músicas compostas para lançar o próximo trabalho pelo seu atual selo, Mutilation Records, após acertar a data de lançamento, em agosto, a banda entrou em estúdio, que em poucas semanas resultou em uma produção de nível internacional, 4 meses depois, em dezembro, foi lançado o mais novo trabalho: "The Coffin".
2004
Pouco tempo após o lançamento de "The Coffin", a banda começou receber excelentes criticas e elogios da mídia e publico sendo considerado o melhor álbum da banda.
Em abril, devido a problemas profissionais, Males Maleficarum convidado a se retirar da banda, quem assumiu a função de vocalista foi daimoth.. Após finalizar 8 composições, o Ocultan entrou em estúdio no mês de novembro para gravar seu quinto álbum de estúdio "Profanation".
2005
Após Count Imperium fundar seu próprio selo, a Pazuzu Records, é lançado em fevereiro o mais novo álbum "Profanation" que teve sua primeira prensagem esgotada em apenas 1 mês, resultado de um trabalho surpreendente e que mostra uma evidente evolução da banda como era de se esperar, mais uma vez a imprensa especializada e o publico elogiou muito o trabalho do Ocultan e isso rendeu bons frutos como uma participação em um dos maiores festivais de Metal, o BMU que ocorre anualmente em São Paulo. Em novembro por motivos pessoais daimoth decidiu deixar o Ocultan, poucos dias após sua saída, Legacy, ex-vocalista da banda paulista de Black Metal "Morthor", assume seu lugar apenas nos vocais, desde então a banda voltou a ter novamente apenas uma guitarra como antes.
2006
No começo do ano de 2006 o Ocultan inicia o processo de composição de seu próximo álbum. Após finalizar 13 composições, o Ocultan entrou em estúdio em dezembro deste mesmo ano para dar inicio as gravações de seu mais recente trabalho intitulado REGNUM INFERNALIS. Este álbum foi que mais exigiu atenção em detalhes e tomou grande tempo no processo de composição, neste álbum a banda explorou elementos vindos do Death Metal, devido a essas mudanças na forma de composição houve a necessidade de uma maior dedicação por parte de seus integrantes, já que o Ocultan passou a fazer um som mais trabalhado.
2007
Em maio de 2007 Regnum Infernalis foi lançado pelo atual selo Pazuzu Records ,Logo após seu lançamento a banda começou a recebeu excelentes criticas tanto por parte do publico é mídia . Não demorou muito é este álbum já estava sendo apontado por muitos como o melhor álbum já lançado pelo Ocultan! Em dezembro deste mesmo ano, Dom Junior decidiu não fazer mais parte da banda. Seu lugar foi ocupado Por Magnus Hellcaller, atual membro da banda de Black Metal paulista Blackthorny.
2008
Em 2008 ocorre um marco na cena Nacional com o lançamento do primeiro DVD de Black Metal Nacional intitulado "Ceremony of Hate", lançado pela Mutilation Records em Dezembro de 2008.
2009
O Ocultan inicia o ano focado em novas composições para um futuro material e a banda fecha contrato com o selo Freemind Records para o lançamento de seu próximo álbum, em dezembro, após finalizar as composições e entrar em estúdio, mais uma vez a banda sofreu alterações na formação, dessa vez Legacy deixa de fazer parte da banda por problemas particulares, com um novo material já em processo de finalização, Count Imperium preferiu voltar aos vocais já que levaria tempo para encontrar outro vocalista que se adaptasse rápido à banda.
2010
Em março deste mesmo ano é lançado o álbum Atombe Unkuluntu . Logo após seu lançamento a banda passou a receber excelentes criticas tanto por parte do publico é mídia.
2012
A banda iniciou o ano de 2012 focada em novas composições que fará parte de seu próximo álbum, com a previsão para ser lançado até o final deste ano.
2013
Em Abril de 2013, é lançado seu mais novo trabalho "Shadows From Beyond ".Esse álbum foi lançado pelo selo Multilation Productions. Logo após seu lançamento a banda começou a recebeu excelentes criticas tanto por parte do publico é mídia.
2014
Após a realização de alguns testes o baterista Malus foi efetivado como substituto de Count Imperium que vinha exercendo as funções de baterista e vocalista. Com a entrada do novo integrante, C.Imperium passou a dedicar-se exclusivamente aos vocais. No passado Malus tocou nas bandas Esgaroth, Agouro, Insanity Force, Justabeli entre outras. Atualmente Malus toca na banda paulista de Black Metal Legio Inferi.
Em setembro deste mesmo ano o baixista Magnus Hellcaller decidiu não fazer mais parte da banda.
2015
Após alguns meses realizando testes kazoth Bey foi escolhido para assumir a função de baixista.
Em novembro deste mesmo ano é lançado o novo o álbum “Nexion Chaos”. Esse álbum foi lançado no Brasil pelo selo Pazuzu Records e parceiros .
Atualmente a banda esta se preparando para realizar alguns show pelo Brasil.
2016
Em outubro deste mesmo ano o baterista Malus foi afastado da banda. Sua saída ocorreu de forma amigável.
2017
Após realizar alguns testes o baterista “Mephisto Luciferius” foi escolhido como substituto do Ex - Baterista “Malus”, que havia encerrado suas atividades na banda em outubro de 2016.
2018
No Inicio de 2018 a banda assina com o selo paulista Heavy metal rock Records para lançar seu 10 álbum de estúdio.
Em Junho desse mesmo ano é lançado seu mais novo trabalho "Quintessence". Logo após seu lançamento a banda começou a recebeu excelentes criticas tanto por parte do publico é mídia.
Logo após o lançamento do novo álbum o Baterista “Mephisto Luciferius” deixa a banda ,sua saída ocorreu devido ao mesmo não estar conseguindo conciliar seu trabalho com as atividades da banda.
No momento a banda encontra-se realizando testes com alguns bateristas.
